162 Days...

As I sit here watching the ridiculousness of the local news broadcasting the "bridge re-opening" party at the local Waffle House, tears of joy are streaming down my face. Words cannot describe my feelings that after 162 days the bridge that has been shut down since SEPTEMBER 9th, has officially been re-opened!!! Almost TWO WEEKS EARLY if I might add. After hearing the news the first thing I thought was I won't get car sick anymore. Yesssss sirrrrr. You may be laughing, but I'm not. No more scanning the radio multiple times, no more drivers foot hurting after riding the brake, and most importantly, I'll be able to resume normal trips home!!!

While checking my gossip sights before hitting the hay, E! Entertainment network has announced that Lilo and her troubles have landed herself an E! True Hollywood Story!! Even better news? It airs THIS coming Monday! DVR set? Check.

I mentioned back in December that I have pre-ordered Season 8 of Grey's on DVD.  I recently received an e-mail from Amazon.com saying that they are having troubles sending me my package. Oh really? I haven't noticed. It's not like we are still in the middle of Season 8 or anything. #iliketobeextraprepared.

Working five days in the middle of winter? Don't mind if I do.

It's official. gLee's version of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, is better than hers. I know that what I just said is a little time sensitive, but Amber Riley who plays the character Mercedes on gLee absolutely nailed it.

As long as we are on the subject of gLee, the thought of them going on a seven week hiatus has slowly sunk in. With it being the Winter finale, of course they will finish with regional competition, and with today's technology, the songs have been leaked, and may I say, HUGE let down. They are doing songs I have never heard of, with the exception of Kelly Clarkson's new fabulous hit Stronger which they in fact butchered. As the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." And it wasn't broken. Yeesh.

Because I have decided to stay up late, I have been chosen to be put on dog duty. For gag reflux reasons, I won't go into details, but after what I've been put through, I'm not having chillens for a very long time.

I've never been a fan of the Mardi Gras King Cake. Maybe because the ones I have had in the past have been dry, crumbly, and totally not worth the calories. Well, that was until the ever so loving favorite :) aunt has become known for baking a king cake and bringing it into my beloved PFM. When she began this a few years ago, I had my "no thank you" bite, just to be gracious. And then I needed more. Her king cake is the only one I will eat.  And because her's are so much better than all the others, she has gained quite the hype at the market, and made two ginormous cakes this year that we're demolished in a matter of minutes. And I'm not exaggerating either.

It has been brought to my attention that Luke Russert is filling in for a few of his fellow MSNBC colleagues show's such as The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd, and Andrea Mitchell Reports.  Are we seeing a preview of a new successor? #nerdalertinsomanyways.

With the announcement that my professor will be out of town next weekend, it was  announced that we will only be having class Tuesday. Which brings me to my next point, with a totally free day Thursday, maybe I'll convince an immediate family member coughcoughmothercoughcough to cook dinner with me. And maybe, just maybe I can convince them to teach me how to make coughcoughhomemadecurrychickencoughchough.

Following the verified twitter account of boyfriiaaaannnnnddd number 2 the one, the only Patrick Dempsey? Um, I may or may not have skipped a heartbeat. Or two.

"just played another round of "let's be awkward!" I won. #classicgame.

Life Imitates Art...

If you go back to my September 5th post titled "Apple Cider And Elevator Love Letters..." you were there from the beginning and followed my three month miserable enjoyable journey of finding the research, outlining, writing and presenting my ten page paper on Computer Mediated Dating (or more commonly known as Internet Dating.) But what most of you don't know, I have had the wonderful privilege of living it. Before I go any further, clearly hear me say, in no way did I sign up for the dating sites we all see on TV.
To prepare for the dreadful ten minute speech, our professor would give us impromptu topics and would make us get up and speak in front of the class for a minute or so. And one of those topics happened to be what I was passionate about, and of course I mentioned yours truly blog. After giving my mini speech, and some classmates wanting to know where they could find my blog, I told them I would bring in business cards (and yes I have business cards for my blog.) And of course, who forgets to bring them in the following class? Rain-Man fails again. I figured no one asked, and therefore no one cared. That was, until I happened to check my email.
Vera Bradley daily email? Delete. Panera new menu additions? Delete. Perez Hilton daily gossip email? Delete. Oh, heres one with the subject line reading, "business cards." Guess I need to open this one. I'm not giving specifics of the email, but that email would soon change my life. It happened to be from one of my classmates, who has become a rather special person in my life.
Fast forward a few weeks later, and a much needed weeklong break. Amid the chaos and excitement of the impending holiday, I found myself trying to enjoy the break, but with papers reaching deadlines, stress had overtaken me. I looked around and again, I found myself finding comfort in his words of encouragement and support.
Classes turned into days, days into weeks, weeks into months. This. Feels. Wonderful.

Gotcha!...

These are incredibly random thoughts.

Today, I was notified of my FIVE YEAR high school reunion. Wait. WHAT? Freeze. Rewind. Say what?! This has got to be some joke. Apparently it's not.

Peyton Manning was cleared to play the weekend that his town is hosting Super Bowl XLVI. The timing of this news is incredibly sketchy to me.

As I sit here typing this, there is an ad that is calling my name. The new McDonald's Chicken bites. They sound incredibly good. And I'm super tempted to try them. But for those of you who don't know me, I haven't consumed fast food since last April. I won't say why, but I haven't.

Roseanne Barr is running for President. She lives in Hawaii on a nut farm. No I'm not kidding. She grows nuts for a living. Barr 2012.

Second time this semester it has taken me over an hour to get home. And at one point I got so bored I popped in gLee Christmas Volume 2. T-29 Days until the bridge is re-opened.

Out of the hundred some odd NCAA basketball teams in America, there is one undefeated team left. Tonight, they continued their streak to 22-0. #MurrayStateRacers.

The American Idol auditons have wrapped up. Needless to say, Sara is not impressed. At all. Apparently Steven Tyler has found "the winner".

Someone in my class asked out loud how to spell Adele. Um. First off, how on Earth do you not know of this incredibly amazing artist? Second of all, sound it out. A- dele. Not that hard.

Did I mention how cute my outfit for Saturday is?

If you are looking for a cake, but you just really want to eat raw, delicious but it's cooked brownie dough, try a chocolate cracked flourless torte. Because it's so good, I had two pieces. And I never do that.

And because I've been in a quotey mood lately, I leave you with the following words of wisdom: "When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things."- Joe Namath
